Quicken Loans Partners with NASCAR for Charity

Hi NASCAR Widows,

Just when you think you have that favorite Gearhead figured out, they do something really neat and keep supporting things like this.

Quicken Loans has partnered with Ryan Newman #39 (Stewart-Haas Racing) to help kids with tumors. Quicken will use a Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) paint scheme on Sunday’s Goody’s Fast Relief 500 winner’s car at the Sonoma Race on June 24th. This is part of Quicken’s Fuel the Cure campaign against neurofibromatosis.

Quicken Loans and Stewart-Haas racing have made a big commitment to neurofibromatosis research. Through Fuelthecure.org, they will combine to donate $390,000 (get it? $390,000? Car #39?). To any of you that can raise $3,900 or more between now and June 3rd, there is a grand prize drawing available: a special package to a behind-the-scenes race tour, including a meet and greet with Newman. By the time the $390,000 goal is met, Fuel the Cure will have given CTF more than $1 million.

“We are very proud of our association with Quicken Loans and are excited to be part of the race in Sonoma,” said Jill Beck, Director of the Racing4Research program. “We set what we felt was a lofty fundraising goal for 2012, and we are now looking at hitting our goal by mid-year. We are grateful for not only the support from Quicken Loans but also Stewart-Haas Racing for the special experience package donation they have come forward with, and it thrills me to think of all the NF Heroes – children with NF – who will benefit from this program.”

Hey NASCAR Widows, give that Gearhead of yours a big kiss and a big thanks too!
